This award recognizes business sites that make a positive impact on the health of employees and patrons.
In 2024, Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) received the Excellence certification of the Certified Healthy Oklahoma Award for the 14th year in a row.
Creating Healthy Habits Can Make a Big Difference
OKCIC holds employee weight-loss challenges, offers a free 30-minute exercise slot for employees during the workday at our on-site Wellness Center, cooking classes from OKCIC’s diabetes prevention programming and does not have vending machines available on campus, which decreases unhealthy eating at the office.
Certified Healthy Oklahoma was created to recognize Oklahoma businesses that promote health and wellness for their employees. Promotion of health and wellness can be done in a variety of ways, including passing policies that encourage healthy lifestyles and making facilities available for physical activities.
“For 14 years we have been honored with this award,” Robyn Sunday-Allen said, OKCIC’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our goal is always to provide a healthy environment for our employees and patients.”
