Pharmacy Services and Clinics 

The Pharmacy department operates as a cohesive team of skilled professionals, including pharmacists, billing technicians, and pharmacy technicians, all dedicated to fulfilling the diverse needs of our patients. Leveraging access to a patient’s comprehensive health record, which encompasses laboratory results, immunization status, past medical history, and drug allergies, our pharmacists play a crucial role in collaborating with providers to assess and recommend appropriate drug therapy. Through a combination of information, expertise, and skills, we ensure the highest standard of care for each individual.

Prescriptions and Refills

The pharmacy at OKCIC allows you to request medication fills in many ways, including:

  • Online Refill Requests
  • Mail Order Medication
  • Automated Prescription Refills

Please call OKCIC’s Pharmacy at (405) 595-3100 to opt into any of these services. Please note that medications can only be delivered within Oklahoma to physical addresses.

Note: It is important that you take all of your medicines exactly as prescribed. It is a common problem throughout the country that many patients begin a dose of medicine and when they immediately feel better, they stop taking and don’t finish the entire dose. This can lead to complications and relapse. So please, for your own good health, take all medications for the time recommended according to the directions.

Important Pharmacy Information

  • Pharmacy’s phone number is (405) 595-3100
  • Pharmacy live answer phone hours are 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday.
  • The voicemail option is no longer available.
  • Please call to refill your medications or to reach the Pharmacy.
  • Please have your chart number ready if you are calling in for a refill.
  • Please allow three business days for the pharmacy to refill your prescription.

To have your prescriptions filled at Oklahoma City Indian Clinic Pharmacy, the prescription must be written by an Oklahoma City Indian Clinic healthcare provider. Prescriptions turned into the pharmacy after a clinic healthcare visit will be filled the same day. If you have a prescription from an outside healthcare provider, it can be filled by taking it to a clinic healthcare provider.

Pharmacy Managed Clinics

Besides providing patients with their medications, OKCIC’s Pharmacy provides one-on-one appointments between an adult patient and a pharmacist to address specialized areas of care.

If you have a Pharmacy clinic appointment, check-in directly at Pharmacy. You will need to reschedule if you arrive more than 10 minutes after your scheduled appointment.

Over-the-counter (OTC) Clinic

This clinic provides current patients 19 years and older with commonly used medications available without prescription, such as medication for allergies, constipation, cough, heartburn, and rash/itching.

Adult Immunizations Clinic

This clinic plays a crucial role in public health by providing a structured and organized environment for people to receive vaccines, helping to prevent the spread of contagious illnesses and promote community immunity. Pharmacists administer vaccines according to recommended vaccination schedules ensuring that individuals are appropriately protected from preventable diseases.

Anticoagulation (blood thinner) Clinic

We are dedicated to the management and monitoring of patients who require anticoagulation therapy, such as warfarin or newer direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs). Anticoagulants are medications that help prevent the formation of blood clots in the circulatory system, which can be essential for individuals with certain medical conditions or risk factors.

Opioid Use Disorder Clinic

This clinic provides individuals struggling with opioid use disorder access to medications. Medications such as buprenorphine or naltrexone help reduce cravings, withdrawal symptoms, and the risk of relapse. This integrated approach aids in the prevention and management of opioid use disorder by offering a comprehensive treatment strategy that supports recovery and reduces the harmful effects of opioid addiction.

Medication Review Clinic

Medication reviewed by pharmacists is a vital process that helps ensure that patients receive safe and effective medication therapy. It involves a thorough review and management of a patient’s medication regimen to minimize risks, improve therapeutic outcomes, and enhance overall health care quality.

Metabolic Care Center

A pharmacist has been integrated into the Clinic’s specialty medical care team to assist with diabetes care and medication management.

Pharmacy Services FAQ

What is the Pharmacy OTC Clinic?
This clinic will give patients convenient access to a Pharmacist to receive consultation for commonly treated conditions and commonly used medications available without prescription (over-the-counter).
Who is eligible to be seen in the OTC Clinic?

The Over-the-counter (OTC) Clinic is a pharmacy-led clinic that provides current patients 19 years and older with commonly used medications available without prescription, such as medication for allergies, constipation, cough, heartburn, and rash/itching.

Patients can call (405) 595-3100, option 2 to make an appointment.

Patients 19 years of age and older that have been seen at OKCIC within the last 12 months are eligible to be seen in the OTC Clinic.

How can patients be seen in the OTC Clinic?
Providers, Nurses, Schedulers, etc., can schedule patients to be seen in the OTC Clinic if the eligibility is met. The patient themselves can also call to be seen in the clinic.
How can patients be scheduled?
Patients can be scheduled in the PHARMIMM/OTC schedule.
What conditions and medications will be treated/available in the OTC Clinic?
OTC medications for allergies, constipation, cough, heartburn, and rash/itching will be available. The medication formulary will include: cetirizine, loratadine, fluticasone nasal spray, docusate, Miralax, guaifenesin DM cough syrup, Maalox, famotidine 20mg, omeprazole 20mg, hydrocortisone 1% cream, and calamine lotion.
My prescription number isn’t working. What do I enter?
Your prescription number is a 7-digit number under the barcode of your prescription label. Please make sure this number starts with a 3 and excludes any letters when entering it on your phone.
Do I enter the letter in front of the prescription number?
No, do not enter the letters you see in the prescription number. Only enter the 7-digit prescription number that starts with a 3.
My prescription isn’t being accepted, but it starts with a 3.

Please make sure you’re entering all 7 digits. If you continue to have issues, please call (405) 595-3100 opt. 2.

What if I’m out of refills or the prescription is expired?
You can still use the automated system. The Pharmacy will contact your provider to renew your prescription.
My prescription is expired, but I still have refills left. Can I still receive remaining refills?
No, the Pharmacy will need to contact your provider to renew your prescription.
What if my prescription number does NOT start with 3?

Call (405) 595-3100 option 2 and speak to a Pharmacy staff member.

If you are experiencing symptoms of an emergency, call 911 or have someone drive you to the nearest emergency room.
For mental health emergencies, call the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988.
