Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) recently celebrated OKCIC Day on August 19, a special day officially proclaimed by the city in 2009 to recognize the clinic’s significant contributions to the community.
The event served as a time for reflection, appreciation, and celebration of OKCIC’s 50 year legacy of providing excellent health care to Native Americans in the Oklahoma City and Central Oklahoma area.
Staff gathered to mark the occasion with treats, creating an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. A photo booth was set up to capture memorable moments, giving employees an opportunity to celebrate their dedication to OKCIC’s mission. The day also allowed the staff to reflect on the clinic’s growth over the past five decades and its continuing impact on the Native community.
Local news outlets joined the celebration, shining a spotlight on OKCIC’s accomplishments. The coverage featured interviews with clinic staff and one of its patients who has seen the clinic’s growth over the years, emphasizing the importance of OKCIC’s role in the health and well-being of Native populations.
With 50 years of service, OKCIC continues its dedication to expanding its reach and fulfilling its mission of providing excellent health care to American Indians. OKCIC Day stands as a proud reflection of this commitment, showcasing the clinic’s ongoing efforts to offer exceptional healthcare and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those it serves.
