Oklahoma City Indian Clinic recently collaborated with Assured Waste Solutions, a leading provider of cost effective solutions for the management, transportation, and destruction of regulated medical waste and unwanted prescription medications.
The new MedDrop disposal kiosk prevents potential addictive substances from landing in the hands of young children, and ensures that individuals do not have access to any expired medications. In many situations, unwanted medications are disposed of by flushing down the drains in homes or tossing it in the trash, which may contaminate our groundwater.
The kiosk is a valuable resource to preserve the environment and help all of us dispose of expired medications in the most appropriate method possible.
The MedDrop kiosk is able to ACCEPT ALL expired, unused or unwanted controlled, non-controlled and over the counter medications, including veterinary medications and liquid products. The kiosk CANNOT ACCEPT trash, hazardous drugs, sharps, syringes, illicit drugs, aerosol or commercial waste.
The MedDrop kiosk is located on the west side of Oklahoma City Indian Clinic’s main lobby before the entrance into the designated pharmacy waiting area.
