Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) proudly celebrated the exceptional dedication and accomplishments of its staff members at the 21st Annual Oklahoma City Area Director’s Indian Health Service, Tribal, Urban Awards Ceremony in July 2024. The event, held in Oklahoma City, recognized the individual and team efforts that contribute to the improvement of Indian Health Service, Tribal and Urban Health programs.
OKCIC encourages healthy living by offering access to one-on-one workout sessions with personal trainers, appointments with registered dietitians, and health competitions for prizes covering health and weight loss improvements.
There were eight OKCIC employees or teams acknowledged for their outstanding contributions, including:
- Jeanette Kemp – Length of Service 40 years
- Samantha Tewell – Peer Recognition Award, Urban
- Lisa Walling – Merit Award, Urban
- Dr. Kelly Boucher – Exceptional Individual Performance Award, Clinical
- Dr. Michelle Dennison – Area Director’s Individual Area Impact Award
- Quality Department – Area Director’s Group Area Impact Award
- Patrik Jones – Area Director’s Individual Excellence in Customer Service Award, Urban
- Pink Care Team – Area Director’s Group Excellence in Customer Service Award, Urban
The clinic is proud of the exceptional work carried out by its dedicated staff. Their unwavering commitment to advancing Native health care and providing quality services to the community remains an integral part of the clinic’s mission to be the national model for American Indian health care.
Oklahoma City Indian Clinic’s Pharmacy and Communications departments were also awarded multiple honors at the IHS Director’s Award Ceremony held in August 2024 in Washington DC. The Pharmacy team was awarded the IHS Director’s Award for Customer Service, with individual recognition of Patrik Jones for his outstanding customer service. Additionally, Yvette Morrison, who works on the pharmacy team, was honored with the Patient Safety – Individual Award. The Communications team also received the IHS Director’s Award in the Team category.
