Ultrasound imaging is used to capture real-time pictures of superficial structures and movement of the body’s internal organs, as well as blood flowing through blood vessels.
Ultrasound is a safe and painless procedure that is used to produce images of the inside of the body using sound waves. Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, involves the use of a small transducer (probe) and ultrasound gel placed directly on the skin. High-frequency sound waves are transmitted from the probe, through the gel, and into the body. The transducer collects the sounds that bounce back and a computer then uses those sound waves to create an image.
As you age, your doctor may recommend monitoring your bone mass over time through a DEXA scan. DEXA scans are the only imaging capable of detecting osteoporosis before a fracture occurs, allowing you and your doctor to plan and start treatment quickly.
A DEXA scan uses low-dose X-rays to measure your bone mass. The most common type of DEXA scan—known as a central DEXA scan—measures the bone mass in your hips and spine.
Our new state of the art CT, or computed tomography, imaging provides doctors with in-depth information that is used to guide treatment and monitor various conditions.
CT scans are a comprehensive form of X-ray technology that creates multiple images of your tissue, organs, and bones. These images, known as slices, are then merged using advanced software to create detailed, multidimensional pictures of sections of your body.
X-rays – also known as radiographs – are the oldest and most frequently used form of medical imaging. They are often used to help diagnose fractures in bones, or infection, injury or locating a foreign object in soft tissue.
Radiography involves exposing a part of the body to a small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the inside of the body. Different parts of the body absorb the X-rays in varying degrees. Dense bone absorbs much of the radiation while soft tissue, such as muscle, fat and organs, allow more of the x-rays to pass through them. As a result, bones appear white on the X-ray, soft tissue shows up in shades of gray, and air appears black.
Our in house 3D Mammography is used to help doctors monitor breast health and detect breast cancer early. In fact, a mammogram can identify cancer as soon as two years before you can feel a lump.
Mammography uses low-energy X-rays and computer sequencing to image the breast tissue.
Your provider will request lab work or radiology services to be completed. This most commonly occurs after your scheduled appointment with your provider.
All services are provided at NO COST to the patient.
It is recommended to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. If you are wearing jewelry or other metal objects, we may ask you to remove them. When necessary, special instructions will be given prior to scheduling or during your appointment.
Some blood tests do require fasting prior to having your blood drawn. Please consult your provider to determine what the requirements for your specific testing are.
