Give Kids A Smile Day
In February 2025, Oklahoma City Indian Clinic’s (OKCIC) Dental team hosted its annual Give Kids A Smile® Day (GKAS). This event provided much-needed dental care to nearly 80 pediatric patients. The event, a highlight of the department’s community outreach efforts, aimed to promote oral health and brighten the smiles of children.
Caring for Little Smiles
Throughout the day, patients received a variety of essential dental services, including cleanings, fluoride treatments, fillings, extractions, and stainless steel crowns. Each service was delivered by OKCIC’s dedicated team of dental professionals, committed to ensuring every child left with a healthier and happier smile.
Building Healthy Habits
The day wasn’t just about providing care—it was also about creating a positive and welcoming environment for children. The GKAS event emphasizes the importance of early dental visits and highlights the role of good oral hygiene in long-term health.
Making Dental Care Fun for Kids
In addition to the dental care, the event included fun giveaways to keep kids excited and engaged. Every patient walked away with a free spinbrush to help maintain their oral hygiene at home. These items serve as a reminder of the importance of taking care of their teeth every day. We also had a special visitor, Captain Supertooth, who visited with the children.
A Special Day for Bright & Healthy Smiles
The success of GKAS Day is a testament to the tireless efforts of the dental team, volunteers and supporters. The smiles seen on the faces of the children—along with the feedback from parents—serve as a reminder on how important these events are in the lives of young patients and their families. We look forward to continuing this tradition of care and community support for years to come. By investing in children’s oral health today, we are helping to lay the foundation for healthier smiles and brighter futures.
