OKLAHOMA CITY – Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is proud to announce its 19th Annual Red Feather Gala and fundraising event being held on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at the Omni Hotel in Downtown Oklahoma City.
Funds raised at this formal event will provide the gift of hearing to those in need. OKCIC refers an average of 100 patients for hearing services annually. If a patient is referred for a hearing test, they will likely need hearing aids. Unfortunately, insurance typically does not cover the cost, and many patients cannot afford the out-of-pocket expense. The opportunity to provide these services locally gives patients the medical equipment they desperately need to live a successful life.
“An estimated 48 million people in the United States live with hearing loss and American Indian adults are disproportionately affected compared to their white counterparts,”said Robyn Sunday-Allen, OKCIC’s CEO. “Through the Red Feather Gala, the clinic aims to eliminate these challenges facing the Native community and give the gift of hearing to patients in need.”
The event will include traditional American Indian dancing from the Central Plains Dancers and a live paint exhibition by Larry Carter. Auction items include American Indian art and jewelry, autographed sports memorabilia, and more.
Support for this event is instrumental in making impactful improvements in the lives of the patients we serve. Each contribution helps give the gift of hearing to those in need. For more information or to make a donation, please visit www.redfeathergala.com.
