Warm & Fuzzy — A Year-Round Commitment to Supporting Families
Many staff members at Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) support the community by donating time, resources, and funds to help the American Indian population. One of the clinic’s standout initiatives is the Warm and Fuzzy program, an award-winning, employee-supported effort that raises funds through voluntary payroll deductions, employee contributions, and donations from generous organizations. The program was established to give back to patients and assist families in need.
In 2024, the Warm and Fuzzy program provided much-needed items to families throughout the year. During the back-to-school season, it supplied children and families with essential school supplies. During the winter and holiday months, the program distributed coats, meals, and toys to brighten the season for many families.
In July, OKCIC hosted its annual Children’s Health Fair, where nearly 300 children received backpacks filled with school supplies.
In October, the clinic held its Keep Kids Warm & Fuzzy coat distribution, providing over 150 children with new winter coats to ensure they stayed warm during the colder months.
In November, OKCIC organized the ThankFULL Baskets event, helping almost 90 families enjoy a Thanksgiving meal. Each basket included a variety of food items for a complete feast, including a full-size turkey.
The year concluded with OKCIC’s annual Toy Wonderland event in December, which provided nearly 250 children from local families with toys. All items given to children met rigorous safety standards, ensuring that families received quality gifts for the holidays.
