Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) recently launched a new Mobile Health Unit to bring health services directly to the community. Over the past few months, the unit has been traveling to community events, providing convenient access to important health services for patients who may face challenges getting to the clinic.
Accessible Health Services
The Mobile Health Unit offers a wide range of services, including child and adult vaccinations, STI testing and treatment, health screenings, educational resources, and referral support through OKCIC’s Social Services department. These services are designed to strengthen preventive care efforts and make health care more accessible to the urban Native community.
Designed for Comfort & Wellness
Inside, the unit is equipped with features to ensure quality care on the go. Patients benefit from a climate-controlled exam room for comfort and privacy, on-site Wi-Fi
for secure access to medical records, a portable power supply, and a wheelchair lift to accommodate those with mobility needs.
Bringing Care to the Community
One of the key goals of the Mobile Health Unit is to remove transportation barriers by bringing care directly to the community. From flu vaccine outreach to targeted STI testing in underserved areas, the mobile clinic is helping patients access vital health services.
With this initiative, OKCIC continues to expand patient-centered care—meeting people where they are and providing the tools needed to support healthier futures.
