Integrated Pharmacists are an Essential Part of Your Care Team
If you’ve had a visit with a primary care provider in the last year, you may have interacted with a pharmacist during your visit. Working alongside the providers and nurses, each primary care team now has their very own Integrated Pharmacist to help bridge the gap between the provider and pharmacy.
During a visit, a pharmacist can help answer questions about medications, review medication lists to ensure prescriptions are safe and effective, and demonstrate devices for some inhalers and injectable medications to improve confidence in using them before you leave Oklahoma City Indian Clinic’s (OKCIC) campus.
Working Together to Make Your Health Our Top Priority
Behind the scenes, an Integrated Pharmacist helps the primary care teams in a variety of ways to ensure you receive the best possible care. The pharmacist can assist in obtaining medication records from other doctors and pharmacies, respond to medication refill requests, and directly communicate with OKCIC’s Pharmacy to quickly address any concerns.
Help With Your Prescriptions is Just a Phone Call Away
Integrated Pharmacists are available by phone between and after primary care appointments. Contact them for assistance with medication-related concerns, including side effects, dosage adjustments, and refills at outside pharmacies. Ask for a business card at your next visit.
Expanding Pharmacy Support in 2025
The Integrated Pharmacist team is expanding. In 2025, pharmacists will be available in Behavioral Health and Pediatrics, enhancing collaboration with providers to improve patient care. For more information, please call OKCIC’s Pharmacy at (405) 595-3100.
