At Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC), we care about you and want your visits to go smoothly! To help us serve you better, always bring your insurance card when you check in—no matter if you’re here for the clinic, lab, optometrist, or dentist. Even if you have multiple appointments in one day, we need to see your card each time! Rest easy all services at OKCIC continue to be no cost to the patient.
Why Is Your Insurance Card Important?
OKCIC is part of the Indian Health Service (IHS), which helps pay for health care. But IHS is the last resort’s payer— they only cover costs that other insurance won’t. That’s why we must check your card, contact your insurance, and update your records.
Your insurance card tells us important things, like:
- What your plan covers
- Your copay amounts
- Policy numbers that may have changed
The company might have updated your card even if your insurance hasn’t changed. Online records don’t always have the latest details, so bringing your card is the best way to ensure everything is correct!
If You Have Two Insurance Plans
Make sure to bring both insurance cards! This helps us make sure all your benefits are used correctly.
OKCIC: A Lifeline for Our Community
OKCIC helps thousands of people every day. But providing care costs a lot of money. The clinic receives funding from IHS, but it’s not enough to cover everything. Checking your insurance helps us bill correctly and bring in more money to keep offering great care.
Thank You for Choosing Oklahoma City Indian Clinic
We are proud to serve you and want to be the best health care provider for American Indians. Thank you for helping OKCIC ensure everyone gets the care they need.
