Oklahoma City Indian Clinic (OKCIC) is making strides in the fight against sexually transmitted infections (STIs), thanks to a generous Indian Health Service STI grant that has expanded outreach and testing services. This funding has been instrumental in providing essential resources, education, and accessible testing to our community.
In January, OKCIC hosted a free STI testing day, which saw tremendous success. More than 100 individuals took the proactive step to get tested—a milestone that highlights the community’s growing awareness and commitment to sexual health.
Regular STI testing is essential for maintaining public health, preventing the spread of infections, and enabling early treatment. The strong turnout at this event underscores the importance of accessible health care and the positive impact of community-driven initiatives.
Accessible & Supportive STI Testing at OKCIC
The event offered confidential testing for STIs, complemented by educational materials, personalized counseling, and incentives to encourage participation. OKCIC’s dedicated health care professionals were on-site to ensure a seamless process and offer support to patients, all at no cost to participants. By eliminating financial barriers, these services make it easier for individuals to access the care they need.
Together, we can create a healthier future.
OKCIC remains dedicated to promoting sexual health and preventing the spread of STIs. Stay tuned for upcoming events, resources, and additional testing opportunities. For more information on STI prevention, testing, and treatment call (405) 948-4900 ext. 467 or visit okcic.com.
