Three years ago, Jackie walked into the Wellness Center seeking to improve her health, but she faced significant challenges. She struggled with shortness of breath and had difficulty sustaining exertion during workouts. Additionally, a pre-existing hip injury caused intermittent pain, making physical activity even more daunting.
The Power of Staying Consistent
Despite these obstacles, Jackie remained dedicated to her fitness journey. Under the guidance of Emily Ledinski, Certified Personal Trainer, she committed to consistent training, gradually building her endurance. Over time, she began experiencing noticeable health benefits—more energy throughout the day, improved sleep, and increased stamina. However, her hip pain persisted, preventing her from reaching her full potential.
Getting the Right Support
Recognizing that Jackie needed additional support, Emily recommended she consult her provider and obtain a physical therapy referral. This led Jackie to Jade Cruzan, PTA at OKCIC, who worked closely with her to develop a structured rehabilitation program. Through targeted physical therapy sessions and continued consistency in the gym, Jackie saw improvements in her hip pain and overall mobility.
Overcoming New Challenges & Building Resilience
Just as her hip began to feel more manageable, Jackie faced another hurdle—persistent knee pain. Undeterred, she remained committed to strengthening the muscles surrounding her knee, following the guidance of both Emily and Jade. Despite her best efforts, it became evident that surgery was the best course of action to address the pre-existing knee injury.
Jackie’s dedication to a healthy lifestyle paid off immensely during her recovery. Because she had already built a strong foundation of physical fitness, she found herself recovering more quickly than expected. Her strength and resilience helped her navigate the challenges of post-surgical rehabilitation with greater ease than she had anticipated.
Reflecting on her journey, Jackie expressed her deep gratitude to Emily and Jade, saying, “I will never be able to thank you enough for all the efforts you made for me the past three years, keeping me going.”

While Jackie’s journey to full recovery is still ongoing, her story is a testament to the power of perseverance, consistency, and the support of a dedicated wellness team. Her commitment to prioritizing her health has not only transformed her physical well-being but has also strengthened her resilience. With determination and the right support, she continues to push herself, proving that progress is always possible.
